Joseph Moses Lang was about 17 years old when he and his family were
asked to pack up everything and they were eventually placed in an old
factory building for a month. Then on his 17th birthday he was
transported from train along with others to Auschwitz. Then as they
were there the nazis went through the process of "sorting" out the men
for good workers. And those people who did not qualify were sent to
death. Joseph lied about his age so he was able to make it through
with his brother, who was already 20. They were then sent to the work
camp Allach. Where Joseph worked in a cement factory and did railroad
work and also wood working stuff. Living conditions on Allach were
terrible. He was beaten very badly several times. At one time he was
accused of not "lining up" on time. And was sent to the "dentist" got
his wisdom teeth out with a chisel and hammer, and one time a nazi
officer made him run four laps around the barracks yard while being
chased by a the nazi's German Shepard, during the third lap, he
tripped and fell and the dog bit a big chunk out of his neck... And he
was forced to finish the lap... The dog bite is a permanent scar on
