  • Slanted eyes
  • Small ears

HOW ITS INHERITED

  • Translocation Down syndrome is passed down
  • Down syndrome is a spontaneous mutation

WHEN IT WAS DISCOVERED

  • It has always been around
  • In 1866 john Langdon down published a discription

HOW MANY PEOPLE ARE EFFECTED BY THIS TODAY

  • 1 in every 691 American babies are born with it
  • 6 million people have it world wide
  • The population has been increasing over the years

WHEN IS IT DIAGNOSED

  • When pregnant you are tested to see if your baby has it

TREATEMENTS

  • There is no cure for it
  • Treatments are based on the physical and mental state they are at
  • The best treatment is encouragement
