WHAT TIME OF THE SCHOOL DAY DOES A STUDENT HAVE THE BEST HAND-EYE REACTION TIME?

Background Research: People usually have a better reaction time when they are paying attention. Also, when people are tired or are fatigued they will probably have a worse reaction time.

HYPOTHESIS

  • I think a person's best hand-eye reaction time is after P.E., Approx 10:30 AM
  • If a persons hand-eye reaction time is tested,
  • then it will be the fastest after P.E., Approx 10:30 AM

PROCEDURE

  • First, I test a person on his reaction time, five times.
  • Then, I take that data and take the high and low times to average it.
  • Next, I put those averaged numbers together form everyone I did.
  • Then, I average those, then I take all of the mornings and average all of those
  • Finally, I see what time of day has the best reaction time.

REACTION TIME IN MILLISECONDS

CONCLUSION

  • In conclusion, I found that my hypothesis was incorrect.
  • My experiment showed that a person's best hand-eye reaction time is not
  • the best at 10:30 ( right after P.E. ).
  • I found that my classmates' reaction time actually is faster at the end of the school day
  • ( 2:50PM ) rather than earlier times of the day.
