• English brought christianity which disproved igbo superstitions
• This also encourages igbo to break traditions
• Settlers killed the villagers to convert the rest
• The ibo had a lack of structure which made them easy to conquer.
• Their culture didnt allow them to stop their brothers to join the white ranks.
