FRench and INdian War

The French and the British were fighting for the Ohio valley.

Proclamation of 1763

  • Issued on October 7,1763 by King George III
  • Settlers were forbidden to past a line 
  • The line was drawn between the Appalachian Mountains
  • Reason of the proclamation was to keep things in order for Great Britain

sTAMP aCT

  • The stamp act was first tax on stamps for the colonists.
  • Newspaper, pamphlet, and a legal document had to have a stamp.
  • The Colonists got angry because they did not agree with the taxes.

Quartering act

The new law involved the colonists to give the British troops housing.

Townshend ACt

The townshend law added new taxes to glass,paint,paper,and tea .

THE Boston massacre

A fight broke between soldiers and the colonists.

tea act

  • Colonists wouldn't buy tea unless it was from East India Company
  • They choose that company because the British wanted to give it more money
  • So, the British made it cheap for the colonists to afford.

Intolerable Acts

  • The Intolerable Acts were made to punish Massachusetts for the tea act  
  • The first law closed the Boston Harbor until the ruined tea was payed for 
  • The second law placed Massachusetts government under British's control
  • The third law British soldiers blamed of murder would be tried in England
