The halls of Glenbrook South fill up with a multitude of backpacks and bags during the five minute passing periods. The students all carry them; Blue, purple, black and red, you name it.

The typical freshman wanders aimlessly through the halls in a hurry, still confused and scared with the building and the mass amounts of students. They carry a worried look-- the look of “I’m going to be late to class”.

It’s December. All students by now carry a feeling of boredom.

The winter sports have just begun though. On the athlete’s back, he carries a black and white nike drawstring bag full of his basketball shoes and knee pads, a gatorade, a granola bar, an extra jersey, and his phone charger for later. He already dropped his books off at his locker.

The musician, who is preparing for her recital, on the opposite side of the hall, carries her violin in its case, while her backpack sits heavily on her lower back. She carries a sense of pride; She just mastered her recital piece.

Music theory homework and compositions are all tucked away neatly in their own folders and binders. An extra piece of rosin for her bow, three number two pencils and a pitch pipe, sit stowed away in the front first pocket of her backpack. \
