  • Fishing is a big part of the economy
  • Fishing provides over 130,00 jobs
  • The main areas for fishing in Canada are the oceans
  • Fishing in the Atlantic has gone down recently
  • It has gone down in the Atlantic due to over fishing

HYDRO-ELECTRICITY

  • Canada is the 3rd largest producer
  • There are over 100 dams in Canada
  • In Quebec alone there are 59
  • 90% of British Columbia and Quebec power

AGRICULTURE

  • Alberta and Saskatchewan produce most of the grains
  • Provides about 685,00 jobs in Canada
  • In the last 80 years the percentage of farmers has gone from 32% to 2%

GUN LAWS

  • Canada's policies are much stricter than the US
  • All firearms must be registered
  • In order to carry a firearm in Canada you have to be authorized

  • Mainly watch American TV
  • There's a lot of Canadian versions of US shows
  • Like: Canada's next top model, Ninja Turtles, Canadian Idol
  • Also, the NFL and NHL are big in Canada

BORDER PATROL AND SECURITY

  • There is a big lack of patrols
  • Mostly there are just signs
  • The signs say you must present papers or a passport
  • Visa requirements are lenient
  • Soon that will change

  • The mountains are very popular
  • Niagara Falls
  • Largest wooden roller coaster in Canada
  • Lots of forests, good for camping and hiking
