HISTORY
- Dates back to approximately 2800 BC
- Roman Empire had its superiority because of the archers in their military
- Was continued to be practiced in England by royalty and general public
- The oldest continuing archery tournament are: the Ancient Scorton Arrow
- And the Royal Toxophilite Society was created to continue the sport
COMPETITIONS
- The National Archery in the Schools Program
- Offer competitions for archery teams in schools arounf the US
- States is at Penn State University for those around PA
- Nationals is held in Louisville, Kentucky
- Kentucky Exposition Center

TIPS
- Bend your elbow SLIGHTLY so the string doesn't hit your arm
- Use 3 FINGERS when pulling back the string
- Make sure to "paint your face" when releasing the string
- Position of feet in stance & arrows position on nock
- What happens if you pull the string back for too long
