2 KINGS PEKAHIAH

• 2 Kings 15:23-24 and 2 chronocles
• Pekahiah's father Menahem ruined Israel's economy by trying to buy off the Assyrians.
• Pekahiah inherited the kingdom and did what his father did.
• Like his father, Pekahiah, did not stop the evil.

WHAT HE DID

• Like his father, Pekahiah did what was evil in the sight of the Lord.
• Pekahiah resfused to turn from the sins of idolatry
• He continued to do the same thing as Jeroboam did.
• Pekahiah continued to lead the people away from God.
• He did not take down the shrines and have people return to God.

ASSASIANATION

• Pekahiah was the 7th israelite king to be assassinated
• Pekahiah one of pekahiahs chief officers conspired to assassinate the king
• Pekah and 50 Gilieadites stormed the royal compound in Samaria killing pekahiah and two others
