  • It also works to flex the leg at the knee
  • Location: on the femur

VASTUS MEDIALIS MUSCLE

  • The primary extensor of the knee
  • Location: Femur

VASTUS MEDIALIS MUSCLE

TIBIALIS ANTERIOR MUSCLE

  • Causes dorsiflexion and inversion of the foot
  • Location: Front of the lower leg

TIBIALIS ANTERIOR MUSCLE

PERONEUS LONGUS MUSCLE

  • Moving the foot downward
  • Helps support the arch of the foot
  • Location: Outside of the lower leg

PERONEUS LONGUS MUSCLE

SARTORIUS MUSCLE

  • Rotates the thigh sideways at the hip
  • Flexes the leg at the knee joint & rotates it slightly after flexing
  • Location: Slants across the front thigh and descents vertically to the knee

  • Move the thigh inward assists in flexing & rotating it to the side
  • Location: runs from the pubic bone to the femur
