THE EIGHT PARTS OF SPEECH

Verb: a word used to describe an action, state, or occurrence, and forming the main part of the predicate of a sentence.
Sentence: LET ME TELL YOU about old Grandma Vee, she's the coolest person you'll ever meet.

Noun: the name of a person, place, thing, or idea.
Sentence: Grandma Vee works at MC.DONALD'S giving food to little kids.

Adjective: words that describe or modify another person or thing in the sentence.
Sentence: MY CRAZY grandma is the FUNNEST person you'll ever meet.

Adverb: Adverbs are words that modify a verb, an adjective, or another adverb
Sentence: Grandma Vee is a LOVELY person who wants to stay young and free forever.

PRONOUN

  • Def: a word that takes the place of a noun
  • Sentence:SHE loves playing with me, and doing fun things.

Prepositions
Def:a word that takes the place of a noun
Sentence: we like to walk AROUND the ocean as the sunset sets.

Conjunction
Def:a word used to connect clauses or sentences or to coordinate words in the same clause
Sentence: she is very smart, BUT she loves her selfies.

Interjection
Def: to express an emotion or sentiment on the part of the speaker
Sentence: JEEZ I really love my grandma, she is the coolest.
