Rosa Parks was born in Tuskegee, Alabama on February Fourth, 1913.Rosa Parks mother was a school teacher and taught her from home until she was eleven, then she went to Montgomery Industrial School for girls, then she went to Booker T. Washington High School. Her father died of cancer in 1977.

On December First, 1955 Rosa Parks and three black passenger sat in the front of the bus, that said whites only. All stood except Rosa, then the bus driver called the police. Two police officers showed up and took Rosa Parks to jail. They fingerprinted her, then they fined her fourteen dollars.

Rosa Parks led one of the biggest movements in history. The Bus Boycott was the biggest movement right after the march on Washington which was led by Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.

"I would like to be known as a person who is concerned about freedom, equality, justice and prosperity for all people."Said Rosa Parks died on October 24, 2005 in Detroit she was 97 when she died.
