GEOGRAPHY SHOULD BE TAUGHT IN CLASS^__^

  • It helps get a better understanding
  • Without the geography we don't know what we are learning
  • History and Geography are both big parts

FOR EXAMPLE:)

X)GREECE'S CLIMATE

  • Mild rainy winters and dry summers
  • 50 degrees in the winter and 80 on the summer
  • Religion and climate were under the same catagory
  • Almost everything had a God
  • The seas surrounding Greece brought heavy winds

MOUNTAINS IN GREECE:\

  • Mountains divided Greece in to many regions
  • Mountains cover 70 to 80 percent of Greece
  • Made it hard to trade with eachother

LANDSCAPE-.-

  • The mountains made it hard to plant crops
  • Only 20 to 30 percent was fertile
  • Made it hard to be under a single government
  • Made it hard to raise cattle

SURROUNDING SEAS-__-

  • The Mediterranean and other rivers were used a transportation
  • Used as ways to trade with one another
  • Made the Greeks skilled sailors
  • Surrounded all of Greece besides the north
  • Linked to most parts of Greece

  • Greeks used the surrounding rivers for trade and transportation
  • They traded with other islands and other Greek city-states
  • Also traded in Egypt and Italy

COMMUNITY:

  • The mountains made it hard to trade with other parts of Greece
  • Each city-state was independent
  • Every city-state lived under their own government and ways of living
  • Greek society was broken up between free people and slaves

  • Since each city-state lived under their own government they started wars with eachother
  • The mountains made as barriers against attacks
  • Since the Greeks were skilled sailors they made as a navy
