The Thermometer: Invented the first thermometer in 1606.
Jupiter Satellites: Galileo discovered the four largest satellites.
The moon: discovered the moon had craters, mountains and valleys.
Sunspots: He found sunspots that drifted from one side of the
Sun's disc to the other.

BELIEFS
What Galileo believed about the positioning of the planets caused heresy.
The church said he would have to admit he was wrong even though Galileo
knew he was right. Instead of killing him, they put him in house arrest for
the rest of his life. He was a humanist because he cared about what was on
on earth, as much as religion.
