  • is Madrid. It is located in
  • the geographic center of
  • the country.

POPULATION

  • As of July 2013 Spain's
  • population was 47,370,542.

GEOGRAPHY/CLIMATE

  • The terrain is mostly large, flat
  • plateau surrounded by rugged
  • hills. The climate is fairly extreme
  • toward the interior, and more
  • mild and cloudy along the coast.

  • is the main currency for nearly all of Europe.

  • Spanish Princess Christina was taken to court on the
  • 7th for a hearing to help determine whether she and
  • her husband illegally used company funds for personal
  • expenses. She is the first Spanish royal to face questioning
  • in court since the monarchy was restored in 1975
