Bio

Hector Camacho, Jr. was born in San Juan, Puerto Rico, but grew up in New York City. His father was Hector Camacho, the late three-time world champion.
Hector had an extremely exciting amateur career with 59 wins and 2 losses. During his climb up the ranks of the amateur circuit, Hector won 3 Golden Gloves state championships, a silver medal at the US junior Olympics, the Cincinnati National Championship, and held the #1 spot in the US at 139lbs.

In the mid 1990’s Hector turned pro. His professional record to date is 58-6 with 32 KO’s. He was the #1 contender for the WBA junior welterweight title and the WBC junior welterweight title. Ranked # 2 for the IBF junior welterweight title and # 3 for the WBO title.

During Hector’s exciting career he has worked with several TV networks such as HBO, FOX, SHOWTIME and has been featured on 3 PPV Boxing events.

current projects

Hector Camacho Jr is currently writing his 2nd book, a follow up to his children’s book, Macho Dad. His latest book will be released in the spring of 2016, chronicling his life, from early childhood through his amazing rise to a boxing stardom.
He is working with StarsOutreach and Boxing for life to help bring boxing and artistic therapy to children with various abilities.
Hector continues to train for upcoming fights as he builds on the Camacho legacy.
