Before Shakespeare was who he was, people's plays and stories usually had very blunt plots, settings and characters. As he began to write, he developed very believable characters which people then and now can still compare to. They were an influence back then and are still a huge influence today.

Here, I will discuss some of Shakespeare's achievements in the field of writing. As you can probable read, before Shakespeare was an iconic figure in the world of literacy, plays and characters were very blunt. Before him, blunt characters and plots were the best you could really get. Thanks to Shakespeare though, people really could relate to the characters and feel what the character felt in the story. An outlook most writers want their readers to have.

"articles of Shakespeare's criticism were published from 1844 to 1064, and in other psychiatric writings his name is commonly invoked in matters concerning diagnosis, nosology and treatment"(Stone).

The quote shown here is an example of Shakespeare being used in psyciatry. Written in an article on Shakespeare's influence on psychiatry, by Alan A. stone, this quote shows us where Shakespeare helped in psyciatry.

Shakespeare's works are also very commonly used for cinematic inspiration. Movies such as Forbidden Planet, Titus and Throne of Blood were all inspired by Shakespeare's writings.

You may not realize it, but a lot of the movies you watch are based of or inspired by Shakespeare's plays. Even his plays were turned into movies, such as Romeo and Juliette, A Midsummer Nights Dream, and Hamlet.

"Shakespeare’s influence can be seen in countless films over the past century. The stories that he tells are appealing not only because of how well the audience can relate to the situations of different characters but also because of the light that is shed on man’s character in general. How many times have you seen a movie about forbidden love or an interracial couple? How many films deal with a man haunted by his actions or seeking revenge? The themes of each of Shakespeare’s plays are universal and do not lose meaning over time."(Wordpress).
