Mercury is the closest planet to the sun and due to it's proximity it's only visible during a twilight. Mercury completes about three rotations on his axis and up until 1965 it was thought that the same side of mercury constantly faced the sun.

It would be cool to visit mercury but you physically can't and survive. You would burn to death. And there's a chance you would freeze to death at night.
