VERB

  • A verb is a word showing action,and movement.
  • EX/ The boy ran to school.

NOUN

  • A noun is a person place or thing.
  • Ex/Jim went to the beach.

ADJECTIVE

  • An adjective is a word that changes or describes a noun or pronoun.
  • Ex/Jake ate a crisp red apple.

ADVERB

  • An adverb changes a verb.
  • Ex/The cow happily ate grass.

PRONOUN

  • Pronouns are words that take place of nouns.
  • Ex/He saw a dog chewing on a shoe.

PREPOSTION

  • A word governing,and usually preceding,a noun or pronoun.
  • James lived down the street.

INTERJECTION

  • An interjection is a part of speech that shows the emotion or feelings of the author.
  • Ex/OUCH! I just fell and scraped my knee.

CONJUNCTION

  • A conjunction is a word that joins words or word groups together.
  • Ex/Billy loves to swim and play at the beach.
