  • It is cold and occasionally snows on dunes

  • Second longest river in Asia, second longest in the world
  • Referred to as "cradle of Chinese civilization"

  • Many international shipments pass through the strait
  • In the late 13th century Koreans and Mongols crossed the strait to attack japan
