SYMMETRICAL BALANCE

  • is created by repeating the reverse of a design
  • on the opposite side of the vertical axis;
  • each side, in essence, becomes the mirror image of the other.

SYMMETRICAL BALANCE

  • formal balance
  • bilateral symmetry

WARM COLORS

  • the yellows, oranges and reds of the color spectrum;
  • associated with fire, heat, sun, and warmer temperatures;
  • red, red-orange, orange, yellow-orange, & yellow
  • red-violet & violet can be warm when near reds in a work.

COOL COLORS

  • the blues, greens and violets of the color spectrum,
  • associated with water, sky, ice, and cooler temperatures.
  • blue, blue-green, green, violet & blue violet
  • yellow-green can be a cool when near greens & blues

  • Create a SYMMETRICALLY balanced design
  • Choose either a WARM or COOL color scheme

  • is native to the Akan ethnic group of South Ghana.
  • is an Akan royal and sacred cloth worn only in times of extreme importance.
