PHYSICAL CHARACTERISTICS

  • They're known as the 'humid continental climate zone' region.
  • Average rain fall total for all the months is about 150-90 mm.For snow they receive 8-10 CM.
  • They're also known for their minerals,mining (such as lots do coals,natural gas and oil)
  • Nova Scotia is also known for their fog and for their cold winters but not hot summers.
  • They have lots of bays,beaches,and some parts of the Appellation Mountains.

  • Population:943,497 people.
  • Main language: French & English.
  • Ethnicity: 28.3% Scottish,28.1% English,19.9% Irish,17.7% French and so on.
  • Main Relgion: Catholic and Protestant.
  • Manufacture goods: dair products,poultry,livestock,nurseries,fruits,eggs, and vegetables

HUMAN ENVIRONMENT INTERACTION

  • Industrys: Manufacturing,fishing,trapping,mining,agriculture,pulp and paper.
  • Nova Scotia uses their natural resources for just about every day things like we do.
  • Recreation is the same as us, but they play mostly soccer and hunt and do lots of outdoor sports.

HISTORY

  • Nova Scotia is one of the four founding provinces of the he Canadian confederation in 1867.
  • French arrived in 1604 and for the next 150 years, the Mikmag and the Acadians were the main population.

  • Since there have been a lot of wars I have dedicated this slide to wars all togetherthere have been 9 wars.
  • Wars were between the Scottish,English,and French:King Williams War(1689-1697)Queen Anne's War(1702-1713)
  • Dummers War(1722-1725)King George's War(1744-1725)Father Le Loutre's War(1749-1755)
  • French and Indian War(1754-1763)
  • Nova Scotia was made a province in 1867.

  • They have the most provinces universities.
  • They're the second smallest province and have the oldest African-Canadian community.
