ROLL OF THUNDER, HEAR MY CRY

CASSIE LOGAN

• My favorite quote of Cassie's is:

SETTING, TIME, PLACE

• Roll of Thunder, Hear My Cry takes place in Mississippi.
• The story takes place in 1933.

PLOT

• One of the climaxes of the story is when Cassie beats up Lillian Jean in the woods. Pg.180
• After Cassie beats up Lillian Jean, she makes Lillian Jean apologize for all that she has done. Pg.181
• Another climax of the story is when Cassie gets thrown into the road in Strawberry for not apologizing to Miz Lillian Jean. Pg.114-116
• After Cassie has to apoligize, she gets her revenge on Miz Lillian Jean later. (Listed above.)

THEME

• One theme in the story is racism.
• An example of racism in the story is when Mr. Berry is burned by the night riders.
• That example is on page 9-10.
• I learned how powerful racism can be. I never knew that it was really that bad.

One of my favorite parts of the story is when the night riders come and Cassie is outside. I love this part of the book because it is suspenseful and scary.
