What is an idiom?

A phrase when it's meaning cannot be identified by the actual meaning of each individual word.

Example: "Wow, today you're on the ball!"

"We all fall down"

The idiom "we all fall down," from the ring around the Rosie poem, means (just like Ms. Phelps said) death.

It does NOT mean people tripping and falling down.
