WHAT DOES IT LOOK LIKE?

  • The bell is 3 feet long
  • It's made out of copper and other metals
  • Weighs 2,080 pounds
  • Long crack in the front
  • It has a wooden yoke that it hangs from

WHERE IS IT?

  • In Independence Hall in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania

WHO MADE IT?

  • First made by England in 1752 for State House
  • It cracked the first time it was rung
  • Then John Pass and John Stow remade it in 1753

HOW WASE IT MADE.

  • First a mold was made
  • Cast in a hole in the ground
  • Liquid metal is poured into the mold
  • The colonists had to order it from England because no one in the could make a big bell

HAS IT BEEN RUNG

  • Yes because it cracked,they fixed it and it craclced again now they tap it with a rubber hammer on Independena day
