Credibility

Look and sound like you know what you're doing

We've all seen the one person dressed waaaay too casually and we all judge a little bit. It's okay. I do it too.

We've also seen someone who just looks and sounds like a lost puppy. Also not credible.

If you don't look and sound like you know what you're doing, I'm not going to bother listening.

Parts to an Intro

AGD

When I came in, I opened this presentation with a nice joke about myself and my success. It lightens the mood, it connects with the audience, and it breaks the ice to start talking about the topic.

Link/Problem/Backround

This builds the credibility factor. You're telling a client what you can do for them and that you know the inns and outs of the situation. It's a real quick way to educate your client and establish what you're doing.

SIGNPOSTING

The best friend of all public speakers

What is a signpost?

JUST A PREVIEW TO YOUR SPEECHI

Signpost examples

Why signposting?

Want your client to be able to follow along in their head. You want to make the pitch so easy and predictable that the client knows what your saying and what you're about to say. The repetition sells the pitch.
