THE FIRST LOCATION

• She spent most of her time with her friend Adèle Ratignolle

HER SECOND LOCATION

• This is where she spends time with Robert
• She learns to swim and becomes aware of her independence
• Adèle Ratignolle often tags alone

HER THIRD LOCATION

• She continues to paint
• She ignores all her her social responsibilities
• She moves into a house of her own while her husband is gone
• She still loves Robert but insists on having an affair with the town seducer
• Alcée Arobin is there to satisfy her "needs"

HER FOURTH LOCATION

• She returns to Grand Isle, where she 1st had emotional, sexual,& independent awareness
• As she's swimming through the water she thinks about freedom from her husband & children
• She then commits suicide
• It brings upon the question whether or not she couldn't live her life with guilt
