• Bruno's family left Berlin for his father's job
• Bruno and his sister hate the new house in Poland
• Bruno went out one day exploring and saw a little boy
• Almost everyday for a year Bruno went and saw his friend by the fence
• Bruno went to the other side of fence and was never seen again

SETTING

• Berlin, Germany
• Then moved to Poland for his dads work

• Gretel: Bruno's sister, not very nice to him
• Shmuel: same birthday as Bruno, lives in a concentration camp
• Father: runs the concentration camp, his boss is Hitler
