Literary Analysis

By: Daniel Kim

Literary Analysis

  • Literary Analysis is the analysis of how a text was written through certain techniques. For examples I will take them from Percy Jackson: The Lightning Thief.

Setting

  • There are many examples of Literary Analysis, and this is one.
  • The main setting in this book was Camp Half Blood. "The landscape was dotted with buildings that looked like ancient Greek architecture—an open-air pavilion, and amphitheater, a circular arena." This is an analysis of what is had looked like in the camp.

Symbol

  • Another Analysis included is Symbolism.
  • In the book, the main plot was based on the disappearance of Zeus's lightning bolt. "The lightning bold represents power, and destruction. "the symbol of his power, from which all other lightning bolts are patterned," and is very much like a weapon of mass destruction."

Imagery

  • In this book, many things include the five senses, which is a type of Imagery.
  • There are many examples like when Percy drinks nectar. He tastes his mother's cookies. Grover can hear the quiet voices of each snake of Medusa, and the smell of food,
