THE MCDOW HOLE

• During the summer of 1855
• A group Texas scouts
• Were searching for a band of raiding Comanche
• They rode throughout earth county.
• They stopped at a large water hole to rest and get water

• Suddenly, the men could see black smoke rising
• They climbed a hill to see what was the cause of the fire
• They found a young couple brutally murdered
• They were lying in front of their small burning cabinet
• The couple had been tortured and scalped

• 50 ft away they found a body of a child
• She had been dragged through cactus until she died
• Outraged, the scouts found the trail of the Comanche
• They fought and easily won the battle
• They went back to the cabin and buried the family

MORE THINGS WOULD HAPPEN AT MCDOW HOLE

• In the summer of 1921
• Jewel and dieletta hickey were gathering water
• On their way back 9 yr old jewel
• Dropped both buckets and ran
• Once home she told her parents a dog tried to bite her

• 6 yr old dieletta told her she didn't see anything
• Jewel told her that the "thing" was snapping and growling at her legs
• The hicky family would see more strange things to come
• This is one of many ghostly things to happen at "Mcdow Hole"
