AMPHIBIANS AND REPTILES

Herpetology is the study of Amphibians and reptiles.
The daily duties of a herpetologist entail:
-Collecting Specimens
-Analyzing Population Change of reptiles
-Studying reptiles in their natural habitat
-Classifying animals based on their characteristics
- Assessing the effects of industry on reptiles

QUALIFICATIONS
- A bachelors degree in biology can get you entry level jobs (4 years)
- A masters degree can get you better jobs, e.g. research assistant, junior researcher, or a senior position at a zoo or museum. You can also become a teacher with a masters degree, which is unusual. (2-3 years)
- A Doctorate can get you the same jobs as a person with a masters degree, but can earn you more money (5-7 years)

- Environmental Firms
- Zoos, Aquariums
- Colleges, Universities
- Resource based corporations

Since most careers like this are competitive, it's important to have experience. A lot of universities offer summer jobs. Some governmant agencies (e.g. National Parks) and private companies do also.
