CAUSES OF THE PHASES?

  • The Sun shine on the moon at the same time that the moon revolves around
  • The earth. The sun shine causes the earth to cast a shadow on the moon

WANING

ITS WHEN THE MOON DECREASES TO NEW MOON

WAXING

ITS WHEN THE MOON INCREASES SIZE TO FULL MOON

LUNAR AND SOLAR ECLIPSE

  • Lunar: moon, earth and sun are alined and the moon is in the earths shadow
  • Solar: the moon is in front of the sun during the day( its also alined)

OCEAN TIDES

  • Strong Spring tides: when the sun, moon, and earth
  • Are alined and gravity from both the sun and moon pull on the water
  • Neap tides: when the sun, earth, and moon are alined in perpendicular formation
  • Where there is a smaller amount of the sun and moon gravity pulling on the water
