Hypertension which is also referred to high blood pressure is a condition in which the arteries have persistently elevated blood pressure

Causes

  • Smoking
  • Obesity
  • Diabetes
  • Lack of physical activity
  • High levels of salt intake

Also

  • Stress
  • Vitamin D deficiency
  • Medicines such as birth control
  • Family history of hypertension
  • Insufficient calcium potassium and magnesium

Anyone can get it but some are at greater risks than others such as elderly people of overweight and pregnant women

  • The blood vessels
  • Fails your heart
  • Affects the brain
  • Damages kidneys
  • Affects pregnancy

Symptoms

  • Severe headaches
  • Fatigue or confusion
  • Dizziness
  • Breathing problems
  • Irregular heart beat
