JAPANESE AND JEWISH

Interment Camps were built because of the bombing in Pearl Harbor. The Americans thought that all the Japanese had to do with it, so they brought them to interment camps or as the government calls it, "Relocation Centers".

In 1942, President Roosevelt, made the executive order 9066 allowing "any or all persons" to be removed out of U.S. military area. This was a loss of homes, families, friends, and many other important items for all the Japanese.

JAPANESE INTERNMENT CAMPS

• Around 17,000 Japanese-Americans fought for the United States military during World War II.
• After being freed, the surviving internees were given $25 and a train ticket home.
• Japanese weren't treated fairly, although the people in the camps were fairly peaceful.
• The government called them "Relocation Centers", as well as many other names.

Who is President Roosevelt?
Franklin D. Roosevelt was the only U.S. president to be elected four times. He led the United States through the Great Depression and World War II.

Jewish interment camps were formed by Hilter. He believed that Jewish people were diffrent then others and wanted them to leave.

During 1933-1945, Germany had thought of building a camp to capture a whole range of victims. There were many different camps for many different victims.

JEWISH INTERNMENT CAMPS

• It is estimated that 11 million people were killed during the Holocaust.
• Six million of these people were Jewish.
• An estimated 1.1 million children were murdered in the Holocaust.
• The term "Nazi" is an acronym for "Nationalsozialistishe Deutsche
• Arbeiterpartei". The Nazis used the term "the Final Solution" to refer to their plan to murder the Jewish people.

Who is Hitler?
Adolf Hitler was the leader of Nazi Germany from 1934 to 1945. He initiated World War II and oversaw fascist policies that resulted in millions of deaths.
