PRESENTATION OUTLINE
The Russian Revolution directly relates to Animal Farm. Many Characters directly relate to real people in the Russian Revolution of 1917.
The Character of Boxer relates directly to The Working class in Russia in 1917 . Boxer also represents Joseph Stalin's (Napoleon) loyal citizens who are not intellectually smart enough to think that the government may be abusing its power.
"I do not believe that Snow Ball was a traitor in the beginning" Boxer finally said... "Our leader Comrade Napoleon," announced Squealer "has stated that Snowball was Jones's agent from the very beginning"... "Ah that is different!" Said Boxer "If comrade Napoleon says it, it must be right." (Animal Farm, pg 91)
This Quote shows Boxer's honest and faithful nature and how he blindly follows Napoleon. This also relates to the Russian Revolution in the theme : People who cannot read or write can be manipulated.
"Boxer is a symbol for all the Russian working class." And Orwells portrayal of Boxer as the working class seems to show that Orwell holds the working class (with not much intelligence) "partly responsible for Stalins rise to power". After all, "the pigs could not have come to power with out Boxers strength".
