oxygen
A dolphin is not a fish it is a mammal so it need oxygen so when they surface to get oxygen and when they dive below the surface there blood only pumps to only vital organs such as the brain,heart, lungs.

Fins
A dolphins fin goes up and down to help it get air compared to fish who just moves side to side it also helps them to navigate through the water faster

Blubber
Dolphins have blubber streamlining the body for better speed in water

Communication
Dolphins use echolocation to find animals and objects in water. Dolphins also use this to communicate with each other and it's also been found out that dolphins put in tanks can go death from their own echolocation
