WHAT ARE VOLCANOES?

A volcano is a mountain that opens downward to a pool of molten rock below the surface of the earth. When pressure builds up, eruptions occur. Gases and rock shoot in to the sky and either the magma pours out slowly or fragments of lava fill the sky

HOW ARE VOLCANOES FORMED?

Volcanoes are made when magma from the upper mantle works its way to the surface. At the surface it erupts to create lava flows and ash deposits. Later overtime as the volcano erupts it gets bigger.

WHAT CUASES VOLCANOES TO ERUPT?

THERE ARE 4 LAYERS OF THE EARTH

The earth is made of over 50 large plates of rock. But , there are only 7 main ones. Sometimes the plates collide and some times they crack open. Separation of the plates causes heat and the mantle underneath the earths to melt and turn to magma. More hot magma collects underneath the surface of the earth until the pressure is high enough , and the volcano erupts.
