  • The Qinling Shandi mountains divide north china from south.
  • The worlds highest mountains are located in this area.
  • This landform creates a barrier and isolates people.

PLATEAUS

  • The plateau of Tibet is one of the few flat areas in this region.
  • People usually live on these plateaus because they're not as rugged.
  • These areas are scarcely populated.
  • The plateau of Tibet is in the western part of china.
  • This is one of the most rugged areas in the world.

RIVERS

  • The yellow river is an ideal place to live for farmers because of the silt enhanced water.
  • The yellow river is called China's Sorrow because when it floods many people die.
  • The yellow river empties into the Yellow Sea near South Korea.
  • The Yangtze River is the longest river in china.
  • It is the third largest in the world.

ISLANDS

  • Taiwan is an island claimed by china that is usually referred to as an independent country.
  • Taiwan is a democratic government.
  • Japan is made up of 4 main islands Shikoku, Kyushu, Hokkaido, and Honshu.
  • The center most island, Honshu, is the largest and most densely populated.
  • Hainan is a small island also claimed by china.

  • The Sea of Japan is located between Japan and the Koreas.
  • The Korean bay is between china and the Koreas.
  • Land by a peninsulas is very fertile and has a nice rainy climate.
  • Many cities are located near the peninsulas because of their climate.
  • Japan has many small peninsulas.
