  • Warm + humid
  • Form over tropical oceans
  • Summer = hot + humid
  • Winter = heavy rain or snow

  • Hot + dry
  • Form mostly in summer over areas of SW + N Mexico
  • Brings hot + dry weather to southern Great Plains

Maritime Polar

  • Cool + humid
  • Form over icy N Pacific + N Atlantic oceans
  • Brings fog, rain, + cool temps to W Coast

  • Cool + dry
  • Form over central + N Canada + Alaska
  • Winter = clear, cold, dry air to N America
  • Summer = mild (i.e., not death heat)
  • Storms may occur when it collides w/ maritime tropical
