Members of the upper class are primarily high income business people
Most have college educationa and advanced degrees
Class membership id generally based on income eather than on assets
Many people in tnis class are politically and socially active.

Hold white collar jobs-works that dose not involve manual labor.
Many of their jo s require less education and provide lower income
Members of this class live a comfortable life but must work hard to keep what they have achieved
Hold traditional vaules and are politically conservative

POVERTY IN THE UNITED STATES
Poverty is about not having enough money to meet basic needs including food, clothing and shelter.
most common measure of poverty in the U.S. is the "poverty threshold" set by the U.S. government.
Poverty in the usa looks like homeless, needy people asking for money and jobs
Most Americans will spend at least one year below the poverty line at some point
people ages 18-64 were in poverty(common)
