The way a chicken lays an egg
First a female chicken mates with a male if that does not happen it will not work. A female chicken has a place in it's belle and forms a yolk in the ova . Each has a germinal spot on it. It has to be a fertilized egg to hatch if not it will not hatch. Then the albumen covers the yoke and the shell covers it.

The incubator
You have to heat it -99.5 degrees for it to work.you should have a pan of water so the water could evaporate and the is moisture in the air for the chicks to hatch
