Obtaining Energy

  • Solar Panels (solar energy)
  • Drills (oil)
  • Cow poop (biomass energy)
  • Fracking
  • Etc..

Distributing Energy

Distributeing Energy

  • Pipelines ( takes it to power substations)
  • Ships ( takes  energy over water )
  • Power Substations ( spreads energy out to our homes)
  • And more

Nonrenewable

Nonrenewable

  • Oil
  • Used for gas, diesel fuel, and a lot more.
  • We get it from mining it from the ground .
  • Natural Gas
  • Used for electricity and we get it from old dead plants.

Renewable

  • Solar ( from the sun )
  • Wind
  • Geothermal ( from inside the earth )
  • Hydro-power ( from water )
  • Biomass

Nonenewable (continued)

  • Coal
  • Used to burn to make electricity.
  • We mine it from the earth but it takes millions of years to remake.
  • Urainium
  • We use it for energy and we get it from the sun.

How to conserve energy

Conservation

  • Only wash full loads of clothes.
  • Get florescent light bulbs. Only use necessary lights.
  • Close shades and drapes at night to keep the heat in.
  • Open shades and drapes in the day to catch free solar heat.
  • And a lot more things you can do to save energy.

Impacts

Impacts

  • Environmental impact by energy source.
  • No such thing as a completely clean energy source.
  • Some things ( like burning wood for heat )
  • Can cause pollution ( smoke )
  • Everyone knows pollution is't good for the Earth.
