PRESENTATION OUTLINE

CARBON

  • Carbon is used everyday daily. Carbon makes up
  • things such as gasoline and diamonds. Carbon being that it's
  • atomic number is 6 is easy to make and is quite compatible with most
  • other elements. Carbon in room temperature is solid. Also Carbons symbol is C

NEUTRONS AND PROTONS

  • Being how carbons atomic number is six it has
  • 6 protons, 6 neutrons, and 6 electrons. Since the first shell
  • in a atom can only hold 2 electrons another shell is added. Also carbon's
  • symbol is C.

WHERE ITS FOUND

  • Carbon is found every where, even we are made of carbon!
  • But bigger quantities are found in the Sun, comets, and asteroids.

WIEGHT & TEMP.

  • Carbons weight is aproximently
  • 12.011 and it has a boiling point of 4827.0
  • °C and it's melting point is 3500.0°

COMPOUNDS

  • Yes are element combines
  • With other elements, such as the following pictures
  • Show. These pictures are a diamond and so e gasoline but
  • Since carbon is made up of everything there would be endless
  • amount of pictures but these two will do.

WHEN CARBON WAS FOUND

  • Carbon was first found in early human
  • civilization and was usually called sout or charcoal.

PHYSICAL CHARACTERISTICS

  • Carbon can change its form many times so as it never keeps its
  • Properties. But the starting basis of carbon is a dull gray or black metal that
  • You can scratch with a fingernail. But as it does change (and it will) we
  • will not be able to list all of its properties since it's never the same.

CHEMICAL CHARACTERISTICS

  • Carbon is very different than other elements. Carbon
  • does not react with water, acids, or most other materials.
  • And it has the ability to form long chains with other substances.
  • It's able to do this due to its valency.
