Dynamic “Utility” Mics
industry standards for recording: drums, rock vocals
pro studios typically carry a dozen of more of these mics in their locker.

Bass/Kick Mics
To capture, that REALLY low end…
On kick drums, they capture both the low end thump, as well as the attack of the beater.
They also work well on bass cabinets, and any other low frequency instrument.

Ribbon Mics
The ONLY ones that are neither dynamic nor condenser.
They use a thin aluminium ribbon to capture sound. They are very fragile
