WATER MEASUREMENTS

RESEARCH QUESTION

HOW DOES WEIGHT CHANGE WITH EACH QUARTER BOTTLE?

Prediction : Weight will increase as we fill up the water a quarter more each time.
If we were to fill up the whole bottle it would be past 400g and be around 592.1 two times as much just like how when it was empty it increased 2X

MATERIALS

  • Water
  • Water bottle
  • Graduated cylinder
  • Weighting scale

INDEPENDENT/DEPENDENT VARIABLE

  • IV- Water level
  • DV- Mass

PROCEDURE

  • We got the materials ( bottle, water, graduated cylinder, and weighting scale)
  • We measure the water as we filled the bottle in Ml each time
  • We weighted it
  • We got our results in grams.

DATA

  • Bottle empty = 9.6g
  • 1/4 full (200ml) = 194.6
  • 1/2 full (350ml)= 335.5
  • 3/4 full (450 ml)= 407.1
  • Full ( 550 ml) = ?

CONCLUSION :

FOR EVERY QUARTER WATER BOTTLE WEIGHT INCREASES 0.974X
