REASON # 3 (OVERPOPULATION AND DISEASE)

  • Rising numbers of people caused overpopulation in cities.
  • Disease began to spread because of the overwhelming population.
  • The Roman population dropped due to the thousands of deaths caused
  • by the disease.

REASON # 2 (MILITARY DISCIPLINE)

  • The Romans relied too much on their army and weapons.
  • The majority of taxes were spent on military support and army needs.
  • The military didnt focus on naval defense which eventually led to Rome's end.
  • The army forces were far more important than the citizens of Rome.

REASON # 1 (LEADERSHIP FAILURE)

  • Most of Rome's leaders had little success and unavoidable failure.
  • Leaders at the peak of their power would end up corrupt and power-hungry.
  • Caesar, their greatest leader had a short lived victory among the Roman Empire.
  • False promises influenced the people of Rome to become corrupt.
