GREAT BARRIER REEF

  • Worlds largest coral reef (chain of reefs)
  • 400 species of coral found there
  • More than 2,500 reefs are a part of the reef
  • It spans across a 1,250-mile area east of Australia

TRANSANTARCTIC MOUNTAINS

  • One of the worlds largest mountain ranges
  • Forms a boundary between east and west Anatartica
  • Most of the mountains are buried in the ice with the peaks on top
  • They run for approximately 2,200 miles

MEKONG RIVER

  • Millions of people rely on it for farming and fishing
  • It empties of the coast of Vietnam
  • The worlds 12th largest river 7th largest in Asia
  • It is approximately 2,700 miles long

  • Highest point on peninsular Malaysia
  • It rises up to 7,175 feet above sea level
  • Is located within the Taman Negara national forest
  • Kuala Tahan is the oldest trail at the mountain

  • It stands 13,803 feet above sea level
  • Last eruption was around 2460 BCE
  • One of the most sacred peaks in Hawaii
