FLOODS

  • Is an flow of water that submerges land which is usually dry.
  • Floods mostly come from dams.
  • Floods water overtops of breaks levels
  • Floods cause animals to lose their habitats

WILD FORES FIRES

  • The abiotic effects of fire include its role in changing air quality,water quality,soil properties and nutrient cyclling
  • It sort of destroy habitats
  • It can also cause other trees to burn because it catches on fire🔥
  • Wildfires can be caused by an accumulation of dead matter (leaves, twigs, and trees)

TORNADOES

  • An area rotating 2~6 miles wide.
  • Tornadoes are the most violent type of storm on earth
  • The most powerful Tornadoes occur in the United States
  • Another word for tornadoes is twisters
  • It can also destroy homes and animals

VOLCANOES

  • Volcanoes creat new islands
  • they erupt when heat builds up
  • The first is how the weather near an erupting volcano is being affected
  • The second is how large eruptions will affect the weather/climate around the world
  • houses, buildings, roads, and fields can get filed with lava

HURRICANES

  • It forms and intensifies over tropical oceanic regions
  • Hurricanes are generally smaller than storms in mid latitude
  • they form in warm ocean waters
  • They always have an eye, they rotate counter-clockwise and have winds and rain surrounding them
  • Hurricanes flood the coast of whatever region they enter

Earthquakes

  • they are caused by seismic waves
  • The largest recorded earthquake in the United States was a magnitude 9.2
  • Earthquakes are tremors or vibrations in the Earth's crust
  • They are caused by the build up or accumulation of pressure
  • They mostly destroy anything thats on their path( houses,stores,people,animals

DROUGHT

  • Drought affects all parts of our environment and our communities
  • The many effects of drought can be listed as economic, environmental, or social
  • livestock and wildlife death rates; and damage to wildlife and fish habitat
  • A drought is when an area doesn't get enough rain for a pro longed amount of time

TSUNAMIS

  • The word. tsunami. is a Japanese word, translated as "harbour wave"
  • Tsunamis are usually caused by underwater earthquakes
  • Where the ocean is deep, tsunamis can travel unnoticed at speeds up to 500 mph
  • They can hit anywhere along the U.S. coastline
  • They can kill people and they can flood houses
