Introduction
We went to the Indio Historical Museum and learned many interesting things about life in the desert a hundred years ago.

SCHOOLHOUSE
The school house had a bell that can be heard for miles away
You have to bring your own lunch because there is no food at school
Girls can only wear skirts or dresses
Kids from kinder through 8th go to school in the same class
They use socks as erasers

BLACKSMITH
Burned symbols on a horse to notice the difference
The shop has a lot of tools
The blacksmith made horseshoes
When he sharpened a tool he used water to cool it down

DR.SMILEY'S HOUSE
His house was made from adobe
Went to basement for summer or winter
Had a dumbwaiter to bring the food to the basement
Used his house for a office

SUBMARINE
The wind goes through a wet towel for cool air
Workers sleep in the submarine to rest from work
Has two beds
The workers take turns sleeping

OUTHOUSE
When full dads have to move it
There are two outhouse for boys and girls
One person at a time
The outhouse was made out of wood

Conclusion
Those are some of the interesting facts I learned about the people who lived a hundred years ago from the Indio Historical Museum.
