- "There is no God but God, and Muhammmad is his prophet"
- They say it when they accept Islam
- They say it in their daily prayers

THE DAILY PRAYER
- Muslims pray 5 times a day
- Before sunrise, midday, late afternoon, right after sunset, before bed
- At each time, call goes out from mosque, inviting muslims to pray
- Muslims try to pray together at mosques
- Believe prayer is proof someone has accepted Allah

THE YEARLY DONATION TO CHARITY
- Muslims must pay money to religious official
- The money is used to help poor, build mosques, or pay debts
- Helping/caring for others is important in Islam

FASTING
- Muslims fast daily during holy month of Ramadan
- Qur'an says Allah began his revelations to Muhammad in this month
- During Ramadan, Muslims won't eat/drink from dawn=>sunset
- They believe fasting = way to show that God is more important then their own body
- Fasting also reminds them of people in the world who struggle to get enough food

- Kaaba, in Mecca, is Islam's most sacred place
